Why Spay/ Neuter Your Pet?

Pals for Paws in cooperation with Animal Care Center is happy to offer spay/neuter for dogs for $85 and $50 for cats. A Rabies vaccination is required and will cost $14 if the animal is not current. This is a wonderful opportunity to have your animal fixed at a reduced rate.
We can’t emphasize enough the importance of having your pet neutered – Your male pet will be better behaved, your female pet won’t go into heat. It is certainly a lot more affordable than supporting a litter of puppies or kittens. There are so many unadopted animals looking for homes that it is becoming more and more impossible to find homes for these litters. Thousands of animals are euthanized here in Craven County annually because they were born in unwanted litters. Spaying a female dog or cat can prevent health problems, including pyometra (a very serious uterine infection) and breast cancer. In males, neutering can prevent testicular cancer.
